Well... I haven't been on here. I haven't taken the time to write about anything or share pictures. Which is okay because I don't think anyone is reading this one yet :] So I will give the low down on here now. I will take you through everything that has been going on with the little man and then I will start keeping up on this blog so you can all watch him grow along with me :]
June 1st, about 3 pm.
I started having contractions. Not to strong and about 10 minutes apart. I wasn't really worried about it because I knew that I didn't want to go to the hospital just to be sent back home. So I hung out and did my normal stuff... resting every couple of minutes to let the tightness in my belly stop.
June 1st, maybe... 10pm?
I went into the hospital because my contractions were pretty close. They kept me for an hour or so, had me walk around and then sent me home because I wasn't progressing. They said if my contractions got stronger or closer to come back.
June 2nd, 5 am.
I got up to use the bathroom... and my water broke. Yes, it was my water breaking, not me peeing my pants. My dad and mom drove me into the hospital. They did a couple tests and told me my water broke and things should start progressing faster. Ryder FINALLY wanted to come into the world... 3 days late :]
So I walked around for a little bit. Started making phone calls and sending texts to my family. I took a shower and my contractions started killing me. Got into the hospital bed and figured that was where I was going to be for the rest of labor. I started a drip of pain killers. Kicked everyone but my dad out of the room cause I couldn't deal with all the questions and talking. Turned on the Country Music Station on the TV. And then just kinda went with it. They gave me a half dose of the pain meds... and I was still a little loopy. I kept telling everyone I wanted to go home. I wanted to be at my house. And then I would have a contraction and just close my eyes waiting for it to pass.
Then my doctor told me I should think about an epidural because my contractions were off the charts and I hadn't even started pushing yet. So I said okay. It took about 45 minutes to get the guy in there to do it because he was in surgery at the time. But he got there. They put it in and I had a contraction and pushed it right back out. And by the time they got it in they said it would take about a half hour to start working before I should push... that didn't happen. Ryder was ready to come out.
My dad left. My mom, Kala, Brenna and Sean all came in. I started pushing. I pushed for about an hour and a half. Patty told me afterward that if he wouldn't have come out within 15 minutes she was going to call for an emergency C-section. I'm glad he was ready and came out on his own... with some help from me pushing of course. We finally got him out. They put him on my chest and everyone started crying. I fell in love with him all over again.
7 pounds 5 ounces. 20 inches long. A full head of hair and a super charged umbilical cord (as Patty called it).
It's been just about 2 months. He is growing really fast and I am taking every moment with him that I can. I love just being with him. I love watching him figure out new things. I love playing with him and watching him smile. We have had some problems... mostly me. I wanted to breastfeed. But I got really sick and was told to stop and pump till I got better and feed him formula. By the time I got better and could breastfeed him again, I couldn't. My supply was gone. I'm glad that I got to breastfeed him as much as I did. 6 weeks. He got the most important milk that he needed to help his little body and immune system. But I miss the bonding. I can't really complain. He is growing really well. He is now 10 pounds and about 22 inches long.
Some pictures for you all :]
